^ What is silver-filled wire?  It is wire with a bonded layer of fine silver over a core of copper or brass - it is a thicker layer of silver than that on silver-plated wire.   Silver will patina over time (due exposure to oxygen/body oils). Storing your items in an enclosed space (eg. jewellery box/bag) with the included anti-tarnish paper strip will help slow the process down.
